Greetings unto the Chirurgeonate,

I would first like to address two issues the arose in the first quarter. NO chirurgeon may give out any medicine at any time. I had a couple reports of Chirurgeons handing out over the counter painkillers - this is absolutely unacceptable. Second, if you are Chirurgeon in Charge of an event, you are required fill out an event report form.

Second quarter reports are due to the Regional Chirurgeon by the 1st of June.

The Middle Kingdom web site now has all forms available at the Chirurgeon page. Please go out and print out the new forms and use them. Also, the roster/warrant list is on line. Please go check your dates of SFA, CPR and SCA membership. If there are any errors or the information is incomplete please contact your Regional and myself. If your name is not on the list, I did not get your information.

I am combing North and South Oaken into one Region. I am accepting applications for the office of the Chirurgeon for the new Oaken Region. Please send me a letter of interest if you would to apply for this office. It is my hope to fill this office quickly.

Lastly, the Clinipad Corporation had issued an urgent voluntary product recall of some of their products due to microbial contamination in some of the sterile products. Clinipad distributes Providine Iodine, Tincture of Iodine, Benzion Tincture, Alcohol Antispetic products, etc. Some of the names they are distributed under are Cliniswab, Clinipad, Clinidine, Cliniguard, EZ Prep, Cooper Instruments, Moore Medical Corp and Rauscher. Lots of the sterile products line involved in the recall have lot number beginning with 7, 8, 9 or 0. Further information is available at http://safetyalerts.com/recall/f/00/clinipad.htm also http://www.fda/gov and click on Medwatch, take a look at sterile and non-sterile products. Be aware that these products may be contained in pre-sterilized trays and sets.

In Service to heath, welfare and safety,

Katharina
