If you haven't mailed your Domesday, it's not too late. Send it in and I'll send you a warrant in return. For those in Northshield, warranting authority has been delegated to Lady Tatiana, the Principality Chirurgeon. Please send updated certs to her during the reign of TRMs Edmund and Kateryn.

The e-mail address for Sir Bran, the Pentamere Regional, has changed to knighttemplar@mediaone.net. In addition, we are still seeking a replacement for him. Candidates should be warranted chirurgeons and be able to travel to regional events. It's highly suggested that you have an active e-mail account. If you're interesed, please send each of us a letter of application.

I'm considering the implementation of a policy that will allow professional medical people, on a case-by-case basis, to bypass the standard 4 event observation period for Apprentice Chirurgeons. Instead, the Apprentice would have to serve one event under the observation of a Regional Chirurgeon or warranted Master Chirurgeon. Afterwards, the Regional Chirurgeon or Master Chirurgeon must send a form to the warranting officer stating the Apprentice understands:

1. the SCA in general
2. SCA combat
3. armor and armor standards
4. the roles of other officers and their interactions with the Chirurgeonate
5. organizational responsibilities of a Chirurgeon-in-Charge
6. the policies and procedures contained in the Chirurgeon's Handbook
7. the Kingdom Chirurgeonate's policies and practices
