Unto the Chirurgeons and Waterbearers of the Middle Kingdom come greetings from Herr Ulrich von Landstuhl. There's a new Apprentice Chirurgeon Evaluation form available for downloading from the Kingdom Chirurgeon web page. The new form includes checkboxes for the activities occurring while the apprentice was on duty and will require the CIC to evaluate the apprentice's knowledge of SCA combat and armor extraction, knowledge of the responsibilities of a CIC, and knowledge of Kingdom Chirurgeon's policies. I will not accept the old form after Pennsic, so all apprentices and CICs are urged to get copies ASAP. Those without Internet access can send me a self-address stamped envelope and I'll send you a few copies of the form. In addition, new apprentices will be receiving a form that states I have appointed the individual as an Apprentice Chirurgeon in training. This form also allows the apprentice to record CIC's signatures to show the events worked. This will assist me in locating Apprentice Evaluations that aren't submitted in a timely manner. Existing apprentices can get a copy of this form by sending me an e-mail. Many thanks to my Training Deputy, Lord Cerdic the Blodletere, for his assistance in developing these forms.
