Pennsic is almost here! Please check out the sections on waterbearing at
Pennsic and supporting your group at Pennsic. Everything you need to know is contained there.
A few general reminders:
In the Middle Kingdom, we use vinyl tubing for waterbearing.
I recommend
using plastic juice or water jugs (clean!) and clear vinyl tubing, which can be threaded through the jug handles. Such tubing may be obtained at almost any hardware/home improvement store which carries plumbing supplies.
Family band radios have become increasingly popular at events.
Please check with the Waterbearer, Chirurgeon, or Marshal in charge to find out if radios
are permitted on the field at a particular event. At Pennsic, we discourage their use on the field, as there is already enough radio traffic going around, and we use a dispatch to keep it under control.
EVERYONE needs water! However, please be realistic about your
resources. Martial activities are always the first priority of waterbearers, and others will be supported as resources allow.
Please volunteer some time at Pennsic. Waterbearing is the most instantly-gratifying form of service you can participate in, and at Pennsic, we need a lot of help.
