Woven in Time- 35 years of the Shire of Dark River
Please join us in celebrating our Shire's 35th anniversary! We intend to bring back memories of the past 35 years in various forms throughout the day's activities.
Classes:

Intro to Viking Wire Weaving
Instructor: Lady Katerina
Learn the basics of Viking wire weaving. Topics covered include set up, single and double strand weaving, and tension. Some supplies will be available for loan.

Beginning Embroidery: Embellish the Felt out of it!
Instructor: Baroness Brigid Murchadha
Limit: 15. Cost: donations appreciated for cost of supplies. Summary: Beginning embroidery class to learn basic stitches. Leans toward those who took the Felt Shoe class by Baroness Verena so you can Embellish your Felt Shoes! Although anybody who wants to learn basic embroidery is welcome. Materials will be provided.

Introduction to Middle Eastern Shoes
Instructor: Baroness Verena Entenwirth
Come learn what shoes your Middle Eastern Persona would wear. First part of the class will cover documentation and extant examples. Second part of the class, participants can learn how to pattern their own Middle Eastern Shoes. For those wanting to pattern in class or after class, please bring an old sock ( it will be destroyed) a roll of duct or packing tape, and 2 sheets of wool felt ( or 1/3 yard). There is a $2 class fee to cover handouts.

Advanced Viking Wire Weave
Instructor: Lord Gunnarr Alfljot
This class will cover what to do when you have woven enough to create a bracelet or necklace, including drawing the chain, finishing the ends, and clasps. Some troubleshooting will also be covered. While a working knowledge of jewelry processes and tools would be helpful, it is not necessary. All relevant tools, materials, and processes will be covered in class.
