Pompeia Furia

Pompeia Furia was born in the year 45 BC, late in the reign of Julius Caesar, to a patrician family living in Capua, a large and lavish Roman city on the Italian Peninsula. Growing up, her fondest memories are of her father reading her Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey. Later, she read the works of Vergil, Catullus and Ovid with what what many consider an unhealthy interest. These days, Pompeia can be found in the kitchen trying her hand at any number of recipes, studying the intricate mosaics found all over Rome or watching the local gladiatorial games, though Latin poetry will always be her first love.
