Hello and welcome to the Shire of Dragonsmark; a small and friendly island in these Current Middle Ages!
NOTICE: This site is going to be in a state of construction for quite a while, as the webminister gets weekends to work on and improve this brand new installation in between mundane work and school. If things misbehave/look patch work/seem to change every time you navigate, DON’T PANIC! Just make sure you have your towel, be patient, and try refreshing in a few minutes (or perhaps waiting, as a constantly changing site on every click likely means you’ve found your way here while the webminister is working).
If you’re new and looking for information about the Shire, the Middle Kingdom, or the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) in general, please refer to the method below that most benefits your sensibilities:
- SCA home, with lots of information on who we are and what do: http://www.sca.org
- Middle Kingdom (Midrealm) home: http://www.midrealm.org
- Our Seneschal (leader) Baron Sven Thorvaldson (Stephen McCauley): sven 1066 (At) yahoo [DOT] com
- Our Chatelaine (aid to newcomers) Duchess Annelyse Van Gavere (Anne Koontz): lady *REMOVE* annelyse [AT] g mail {dot} com
- The Shire Yahoo Mailing List (moderated): Shireofdragonsmark @ yahoogroups . com
We meet to discuss Shire business every month on the third Wednesday at 7PM at Good Foods Market and Cafe in the Rochedale Room. This is a great way to introduce yourself as the new person and get in touch with those in the shire who are interested in the same things.
We’re trying to get heavy weapons fighter practice going more regularly, so Mondays after 6 at Buell Armory the fighters will be gathering to work on armor and keep the rust off. Non-fighters are also welcome to hang out and bring projects to work on! For the summer, while the weather is good, we’ll also be doing a fighting cookout the first Thursday of every month at Shillito Park; everyone is welcome! Get in touch with us if you’d like to come out, as we may have to move shelters each month depending on availability.
For less regular get-togethers and to see what Kingdom events a good portion of the shire will be traveling to, check out our shiny new calendar linked up in the menu.
If something seems to be REALLY wrong with the site please contact the site webminister so she can fix the problem:
- Our Webminister (administrator of the group website) Lady Renessa of Dragonsmark (Jessica Kiffmeyer): renessa 47 (At) gmail [D0T] com
If you’d like to get in contact with someone else doing good work here in the Shire, look to our Shire Officers page up in the menu.
And again, welcome to the Shire!
