We have received word from Their Gracious Majesties that they have reached a
decision about our successors. Like all of you, we waited to hear the
official announcement. Then we received a second missive from Their Royal
Majesties that we had permission to make their choice public. And so it is
that we announce, on behalf of Their Mediterranian Majesties, the future
Baron and Baroness Flaming Gryphon:

Niko and Soffya!!!!!!!

We have no doubt that they will serve Flaming Gryphon with generosity and
distinction.

Flaming Gryphon was blessed with three fine choices, and many more members
who would also have done the barony credit. We thank Alan, Dorinda, Richard,
and Sharilla for accepting their nominations and providing us with a slate
of outstanding candidates. We are proud to be part of the barony that holds
them as members.

We also thank Olaf and everyone who helped him with the poll, particularly
all the people who rounded up the missing polls that helped us achieve a
valid sampling. 

We thank everyone who has been part of Flaming Gryphon for the last
seventeen year, years that, for us, passed like lightning. We can hardly
believe it's been that long -- but the cicadas tell us otherwise.

So in three weeks the third baron and baroness of Flaming Gryphon will wear
the coronets. Congratulations to them, and may their years in service to the
Crown be merry and prosperous.
