From the Steward:

There have been many questions about the need to keep daycamps to a
minimum for Kingdom A&S and Crown Tourney. It is important, for two
reasons. One, we need to keep the main hall accessible for real-world
safety regulations and for our cousins who may have mobility
impairments. Second, we need to have a buffer area around the list to
keep combatants and tourney viewers safe.

The grounds around the main building are limited, and will be in use for
merchants and activities on Saturday: adult rapier, youth combat and
archery. Please use caution on the grounds. A paved path is just below the
bottom parking area to permit all event guests access to the picnic shelter.

The new, revised children's activity policy recently announced by the SCA
Board of Directors is in effect for this event.

Saturday, May 26
Kingdom A&S will be held in the Oasis Room. Portable dividers will separate
the A&S areas. While judging is going on, it is requested that the populace
refrain from visiting the Kingdom A&S display area.

The main hall will be a populace area throughout the day Saturday. The
populace may visit the Youth Craftperson's Fair during the day
Saturday, which will be in the southwest corner of the main
hall. Please remember that there may be many folks talking to the youth
artisans at the same time, and be considerate in your conversation volume.

To volunteer to help with the Youth Craftsperson's Fair or to volunteer to
help with any scheduled youth activity at Kingdom A&S/Crown, please contact
the Kingdom Minister of Youth, Duchess Sabine de Rouen at moy@midrealm.org.

Saturday's lunch service will be in the picnic shelter below the bottom
parking lot, behind the merchant area. It is a fundraiser for the Barony of
Brendoken, the home barony for the Marche of Gwyntarian, your hosts for
Crown. Picnic tables are available in the shelter for your alfresco dining
comfort.

Plans are still being made for the time/place of vocal performance,
dance and related performance entries. Please see the site book and/or
Herald's Point for details on Saturday, May 26.

A&S Happy Hour will begin at 5PM. Our thanks to the Tadmor Shrine for
opening their member lounge for us Saturday evening. This is a cash bar, run
by the Tadmor Shrine. Please place any empty aluminum cans in the Shriner's
containers designated for aluminum.

Saturday Night Live! bardic begins one-half hour after court (if there is
court, at the pleasure of Their Majesties, of course!) concludes Saturday
night. If there is no Saturday night court, Saturday Night Live! will begin
at 7:30 PM.

The site closes at 11PM Saturday night to all attendees and staff.
Event attendees should plan on leaving the site at 10:30PM, or be
drafted into cleanup staff!

Sunday, May 27: Crown Tournament

The gate will open at 8:30AM.

Crown Tournament will be held indoors, in the main hall of the Tadmor
Shrine. The activities planned will be at the pleasure of the Crown.

The main hall is 6,400 square feet. Approximately 1,600 square feet
will be reserved for list space and safety buffer. Combatants will
receive priority in allocation of space for their weapons and
equipment. (Combatants, if you have questions, please contact the
Steward at karenjohnson@neo.rr.com; or phone 330-524-2247.)

We will be using the bleachers that cover the entire back wall as a
seating area for the combat audience. A minimum access aisle of
approximately 10 feet across will be enforced in front of the bleachers
to provide a safe access area for that seating. Those with mobility
issues are welcome to bring chairs/seating, and can use their personal
seating on the floor, just so long as it does not obstruct the bleacher
access aisle.

We also will be reserving some floor space for the Crown presence
in the front of the main hall on and near the stage.

Lunch service will be in the Oasis Room on Sunday until 1:30-ish. Please see
the site book for beginning and ending times.

After Crown Tourney is concluded, volunteers to help pick up the combat
floor and set up chairs for court/feast are welcomed! Please see the
Gwyntarian marshal, Tetsuo Akira or me, your event steward for details on
helping out with this hugely important task.

Feast will be served at 6PM. A few (under 20) tickets are available as of
May 22. We will sell feast tickets onsite, and establish a waiting list.

I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones this weekend. My
thanks to my home group, the Marche of Gwyntarian for their work and
dedication to this event. My barony, the Barony of Brendoken--thanks for the
support, volunteers and fun emails.

See you all on Saturday.
