The Marche of Gwyntarian presents:

Looking for someone to fight November 1? Well then, join Gwyntarian on the Road to Alexandria!
In the morning, we will host the North Oaken Regional Rapier Tournament. Anyone in North Oaken is eligible, and everyone else is welcome to fight too.
The tourney will begin at 11:00, with the format to be determined based on the number of participants.
Crusader Tourney: Three subtournies that will last all aftenoon
Fighters may fight as much or little as they like.
We will fight along the whole road, from Europe to Alexandria and back. The road itself is fraught with danger. Those who survive the journey will have the opportunity to kill Muslims, gather wealth, and earn passage to Heaven. If that's not enough danger, we'll also have to watch out for Hashshashin (assassins).
Fighters will begin with a few coins, to represent the wealth they take with them on Crusade. As they march, they will encounter thieves, bandits, and other ruffians, as well as risking life and limb on the rough roads. Before each bout, fighters will roll a die to see what danger awaits. Possibilities include 1v1, 1v2, and 2v1 fights, broken bones (or even drowning!) without a fight, and many more. Wounds will be retained, but can be healed for one coin. Crusaders will earn one coin for each ruffian killed.
Once the Crusaders arrive at Alexandria, there will be a battle. The fighters will be divided into two teams, and each member of the winning side will earn a coin. We may have several battles if time allows.
After the battles, surviving soldiers will wander the field looking for individual enemies to kill. This will be a Bear Pit where fighters choose to fight as Crusaders, Saladin's Army, or Hashshashin. Crusaders may use single sword or "Christian" using a great sword as a parry device. Saladin's army may use single sword or sword and shield. Hashshashin may only use the ceremonial single dagger. If someone wins three bouts in a row, opponents may attack him/her in pairs. Each kill is worth one coin.
Assassin Tourney: will run during the Crusader Tourney.
Each fighter will start with a card naming a target. They must kill their target at some point during the day. This can be during another tourney, melee, or as a side fight. The target should not know s/he is fighting an assassin until after the bout, unless it is a side fight. The assassin will earn a coin for completing his/her task and take his/her target's card, gaining a new target. Assassins may not trade targets, but they may hire each other using any currency they see fit.
There will be prizes for the wealthiest Crusader and the best assassin, and perhaps for each subtourney.
