SENA refers to The Standards for Evaluation of Names and Armory. These are the new rules for submissions.
My decision and comments are prefaced with ROUGE SCARPE: and are in red. Items that are accepted will be forwarded to Laurel as a Middle LoI posted on OSCAR.
Sept 10 - 1: Cynwrig ap Lewelyn - Resub Device
Vert, four snakes nowed in a quatrefoil knot Or.
ROUGE SCARPE: Forwarded to Laurel with the Blazon: Vert, four snakes nowed in a quatrefoil knot Or. A number of commenters had trouble identifying the quatrefoil knot arrangement in the design. But with the example of the similar period armory with three snakes it may be registerable so it is being sent up for Wreath Herald to make a ruling.
Sept 10 - 2: Katherine Hatton Rames - New Name & New Device
Per bend sinister azure and gules, a demi ram issuant from the line of division argent and a threaded needle bendwise sinister Or.
ROUGE SCARPE: Name forwarded to Laurel. Device forwarded to Laurel with the Blazon: Per bend sinister azure and gules, a demi ram issuant fesswise from the line of division argent and a threaded needle bendwise sinister Or.
Sept 10 - 3: Maaicke van Zanten - New Device Change
Argent, a kanji "MEI" and a base wavy azure.
ROUGE SCARPE: Forwarded to Laurel with the Blazon: Argent, a kanji "MEI" and a base wavy azure.
Sept 10 - 4: Nicodemus Thorne - New Device
Sable, a hurt and two flaunches argent on each a housecat rampant addorsed sable.
ROUGE SCARPE: Forwarded to Laurel with the Blazon: Sable, a plate and on flaunches argent two domestic cats rampant addorsed sable. The original blazon used hurt but a hurt is a roundel vert and on all the forms it was white, plate is the heraldic term for a roundel argent. The original emblazon had the cats in a position that was not really blazonable. One of the commenters did a redraw that the submitter approved and it will be sent on with that emblazon on new forms.
Sept 12 - 1: Boris Movila - Resub Household Name & Resub Device
Casa de la Muntea
(Fieldless) On a mullet of eight points a bull passant azure.
ROUGE SCARPE: Household name forwarded to Laurel. Badge forwarded to Laurel with the Blazon: (Fieldless) On a mullet of eight points argent a bull passant azure.
Sept 12 - 2: Colette Du Pré - New Name & New Device
Gules, above a chevron, three stars in chevron Or.
ROUGE SCARPE: Name forwarded to Laurel as <Colette du Pré>. Submitted as <Colette DuPree> without documentation. Rouge Scarpe was not able to find the spelling <DuPree> but did find a variety of other spellings from England, France, and the Netherlands. After consulting with the client she indicated that she would like <Colette Du Pré> and for it to be French. The article was changed to match the documentation found for a French spelling of the name. Device forwarded to Laurel with the Blazon: Gules, a chevron and in chief three mullets in chevron Or. The submitter should know that the chevron should be drawn thicker.
Sept 12 - 3: Ligessac d'Isigny - Resub Device
Gules, a schneke checky argent and sable.
ROUGE SCARPE: Forwarded to Laurel with the Blazon: Gules, a schnecke issuant from sinister chief checky sable and argent.
