7: Logan MacArtair -New Name & New Device

Argent a chevron Or and azure between two wolverines passant respectant and a fleur de lys azure.

ROUGE SCARPE: Name forwarded to Laurel as <Logan mac Artúir>. Wikipedia is not reliable documentation for period forms and cited St. Gabriel report does not support <MacArtair>. The dated form found in that report is <Makkerthyre> (1439). The 16th cen. Gaelic form of the name is <mac Artúir>. <Artúir> is the genitive form of the male given name <Artúr>, which is found in Mari ingen Briain meic Donnchada's "Index of Names in Irish Annals" (http://medievalscotland.org/kmo/AnnalsIndex/Masculine/Artur.shtml) with relevant Annals dates of 1579, 1580, 1611. The byname has been changed to the closest documentable form. The documentation provided for <Logan> was not from a usable record in FamilySearch.org but commenters were able to document the name as a 16th century English surname, which by precedent allows its use as a given name. English and Gaelic can be combined per Appendix C as long as there is less than 300 years between the elements. With Logan as a 16th cen. English element and <mac Artúir> likewise dated to the late 16th cen., combining these elements is not a problem. If the submitter would prefer a Scots or Anglicized Irish form of the byname rather than Gaelic they should contact Rouge Scarpe as soon as possible so that request can be made in Laurel level commentary.

Device forwarded to Laurel with the blazon: Argent a chevron Or and azure between two wolverines passant respectant and a fleur de lys azure.

8: Lucius Antonius Ursus -New Device

Sable, a Bear print and bordure argent.

ROUGE SCARPE: Forwarded to Laurel with the blazon: Sable, a bear's pawprint and a bordure argent. The submitter has a letter of permission to conflict with Sofia Vargh, "Sable, a wolf's paw print and a chief embattled argent." A pawprint is a step from period practice (SFPP). One SFPP is allowable and it is the only one. The bordure in the emblazon was rather thin and has been redrawn with the submitter's approval. This was a submission and not a new device.

9: Malachy von Ulm -New Device Change

Azure, a wolf sejant argent sinister forepaw resting on a maintained roundel Or, a chief argent.

ROUGE SCARPE: Forwarded to Laurel with the blazon: Azure, a wolf sejant argent sinister forepaw resting on a maintained roundel Or, a chief argent. The azure field was rather lightly colored and the form has been recolored with the submitter's approval.

10: Rollo Melles -New Name & New Device

Gules, a melusine argent.

ROUGE SCARPE: Name forwarded to Laurel. Device forwarded to Laurel with the blazon: Gules, a melusine argent.
