Congratulations to Alexander of Mancheter for becoming the newest
member of the Order of the Bronze Ring and to Kou Toshikage for
receiving the Cavendish Knot.
The Midlands Rapier Champion is Sir Ixtilixochitl de los Indios.
Congrats Sir Ix. The next round of regional championships should be
scheduled soon. The winners will be considered for the Pennsic
If you're curious what a Zamorano or a Del Tin bated blade looks
like, go to the photo section of the MidMOF Yahoo group
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mkmof). Kevin O'Shaughnessy has
uploaded pics of those and also pics of other blades. Thanks Kevin.
I've changed the policy that the KRM must inspect a steel fencing
helm before it can be used for the first time. Any marshal can
inspect a helm the first time (and every time). The inspection
guidelines are in the rules. Basically, a helm must be rigid
everywhere a regular fencing mask is rigid and at least puncture
resistant everywhere else. Don't forget that you still need a writ
of experimentation to wear a helm (go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Experimentation)
Does anyone want to host an MKAoD this year? I haven't had any
requests yet.
My next planned events are Candlesmas (Feb 2) and St. Valentines Day
Massacre (Feb 9),
