It is written as standard policy in the marshals manual, that relevant sections of the rules of the line specifically, sections 2.1.1.A and 2.1.3.A are to be posted at any range operated by the marshallate of the Midrealm during an event. Many times the MIC simply has a copy of the manual available on the table. I would prefer the rules actually be posted in the manner described whenever possible. This means copying out the relevant sections, making some sort of poster out of the abstract, and attaching the poster to a post or signboard and displayed in a prominent place near the range. Technically, this would include official practices (practices, demos, and other suchlike get-togethers of missle-weapons people where such have been announced at meetings or advertised in an SCA publication, are regarded as "events"). I will not insist that every local practice post the rules as such (though a copy of the manual nearby would be a good idea) - but for regular events, please try to stay inside the guidelines and remember to ask throwers if they know the rules beforehand.
If you have new throwers, make sure and answer any questions they may have before they start throwing.
