The Oaken members had their regional contest at Baron Wars in May. The winners are Caedman Wilson and Faolana Bayn. Winners of Northshield, Constellation and Pentamere will be announced in my article after Pennsic.
Speaking of Pennsic, there are a variety of competitions held on the thrown weapons range. This year, all the contests are on Tuesday and Wednesday of War Week. This year marks the 6th Annual Known World Thrown Weapons Competition sponsored by Baron Gareth Thorne and myself. This contest stresses accuracy and not distance throwing. It is open to everyone from anywhere. The EK versus the MK Champions thrown weapons contest is where each side and their allies throw for bragging rights for that year. The two teams consist of twelve members. If you are interested in being on the Midrealm team, please contact me. Besides competitions, the range has several classes offered. A new class this year is for youth from the ages of 5- 15 to learn to throw and then they will have their competition later in the week. As in the past several years, there will be classes to learn to be a thrown weapons marshal.
It is intended that part of the range will be open from 9-5 for people to just come out and have fun throwing knife, axe and spear.
