Regarding the letters posted discussing the two arms and armor companies.
One of my squires, name not posted to protect his ignorance , was burned
badly by ordering a war hammer from one of those companies. I think he paid
about $150.00 for something that might open a can of dog food. It reminded
us all of the miniture baseball bats that are given away on promo days at the
ball park. The dimensions were given on the catalog page, but the surface
finish was horrible, the back pick dull, and the thixotropic qualities of the
metal was inferior. ( Think I can get a laurel for using that word? )
Every consumer must remember that slick catalogs cost money and that the
consumer eventually pays for those nice pictures by overpaying for the
product. I agree strongly with Shard about the quality and pricing available
from SCA craftsmen. Do you want to support a true craftsman or a spin off
company, financed by a kitchen ware corporation ( thats how I classify this
companies custom blades) , that are produced out of military surplus leaf
springs in India. No way. But by all means , order their catalogs for the
pictures like I do , or did before they read this.

Your consumer critic,

Coley
