In response to Magnus' call for comments:
I agree with some elements of what you mentioned (planning, developing some
permanent sites, with amenities such as stables and such) but a cable
channel?!? Theme Parks? I am turned well-off by the idea.
The middle ground is tread in thinking about encouraging life-long members to
will funds. Yes, it would be good for the Society if people did this, but
how unpleasant a taste in the collective mouth to be approached by our
at-least-somewhat Dream-based Society out trolling for funds like colleges
do. I hope that many of us who spend our lives with the SCA do choose to
contribute in such manner, but not because of glossy pamphlets showing us how
our money could better _________ (choose your own item here)
But dreaming of permanent sites? Please, let more of us work on making
_this_ dream a reality!
