On the issue of demonstrating SCA fighting for the public, one method I have
seen put to great use in the Ohio area is the Conan vs reality demo. An mc
of sorts briefly explains to the public the differences between what they
have seen in the movies and television and what we do, and then two fights
are run:

1) The HERO, standing alone against all other fighters, manages to kill them
all because they attack singly and poorly, despite the incredible odds and
the fact that their numbers alone should o'erwhelm him/her.

2) The HERO, standing alone against all other fighters, gets crushed good and
proper by the dozen fighters coming in from all sides, thus showing how
stupid the fighting in most movies is (I think they hire classic-trek red
shirts for these roles).

Then, after a few more words of brief explanation, we see real one-on-one and
group-on-group fighting and how it really works.
