My understanding is that *NO* armor at all may be tried on. The quote that
I heard was "even an eleven- or twelve-year-old's neck may not be strong
enough to support the weight of a helmet". Since it's not a good idea to
make a case by case judgement ( choosing wrong can cause either an injury or
hard feelings from the person(s) not allowed ) it is, IMO, safer to "just
say no". It's propably O.K. to let them hold a helmet ( with supervision )
to get the feel of the weight of it. As I said before, though, the best thing
to do is check with the Kingdom Seneschal. It's always better to err on the
side of caution.
