The Viking Ship "Leif Erickson" Was built in Korgen, Northern Norway
according to a drawing from the 12th Century and is a true type of the vessel
that Leif Erickson used in the discovery of America in 997.
The vessel is 42 ft long, 12 ft 9 inches beam and draws 4 ft of water. The
vessel's dead weight capacity is 12 tons.
The vessel sailed from Bergen, Norway May 23, 1926 and arrived in Boston
MA on Aug. 12, 1926 afrter covering a distance of 6700 miles.

*NO Site Fee, though a contribution will be greatfully accepted
*Viking Garb is NOT required, but is very welcome
*Fighters, Dancers, good P.R. talkers are needed, but EVERYONE is welcome.
*Crash space is avalilable, but limited; please RSVP
*Pavilion Owners: RSVP if you are willing to set up at the site for the day
(or night)
***WARNING*** there is NOT a place on site to change garb; at this time, The
best place to change is the Seneschal's house.
*DIRECTIONS: From Thunder Bay, follow Hwy #61 along Lake Superior until ti
becomes London Rd. Follow London Rd to 10th Ave East.
*From the South, follow I-35 North and exit at 21st Ave East (NOT 21st Ave
West). Turn left at the stop sign (top of the ramp), turn left at stop lights
onto London Road. Follow London Rd to 10th Ave East.
*From Eau Claire, follow Hwy #53 through Superior to I-35 in Duluth, follow
I-35 to 21st Ave East Exit. Follow everyone else.

A further request if you please: about a week later, our shire is assisting
the local Public Library in a brief demo for their exhibit of "The Many
Realms of King Arthur" on Monday Eve, July 24 from 7:00 to 8:30. If anyone is
available to assist us, you will be greatly appreciated.

The city of Two Harbors, a bit up the shore of The Inner Sea (aka Lake
Superior) is having a Folk Festival July 14 - 16.
**Fri. nite has a bonfire, jam session & family dance to music of Wild Thyme
with instruction provided for a variety of folk and round dances.
**Sat. at 4 p.m. there will be a special Celtic concert with Way Up North,
Macha Tri, and Sean and Mary O'Driscoll. Sat. evening's concerts will
fearture Minstrelsy, with folk music of the Medieval and Renaissance periods.
At 10:30 p.m. Boiled In Lead, a Twin Cities based group will perform.
Tickets available at the gate and range from $3 for single events to
