I really like the idea that Morgan mentioned about the fighters having
their arms on shields for use in the tourney trees. I also liked the idea
of having the arms of the consorts displayed (sorry I don;t remember who
mentioned it...). Anything that would encourage folk to register and then
display their arms should be encouraged! I know that one of the things that
helps me slip into the Middle Ages is the color and pagentry of heraldic

tabards and banners and pennants. In fact, a similar thread has been going
on the Calontir list about pennant banners for the different orders. Would
it be a good thing for the Middle to have such banners as well - for the
Red Company, the Willows, the Oaks, etc...... I know that we think of this

kind of heraldry as only for the fighters, but I think that all of us should
get in on the act.

With some input on designs and materials, I;d even be willing to help in the
construction of some of these banners if there is any interest.
