Owen chimes in:
As I understood the original posts on this (and correct me if I'm wrong),
but I thought the White Scarf Treaty(TM) merely required that the WS be
"the highest Fencing award". Though GOA would be how this would be
handled elsewhere, this does not in itself require GOA, given how the MK
structures it OP.

The MK currently has two tiers of AOA for some things:

Service: Fret and Heart
Fighting: Dragons' Tooth and Red Company

And one tier for others:
A&S: Willow and Oak
Archery: Pheon
Fencing: Cavendish Knot

(And the group awards that mirror these).

If we want to have two tiers for Fencing, then we should do it the
way we have been doing it (an upper level AOA). Otherwise, we would need
to revamp the whole upper tier to be GOA. But as this would change the
whole structure of the kingdom OP, it is unlikely to happen quickly, if ever.

While I like the AOA/GOA/POA tracking that other kingdoms use, I don't think
it would fit in easily in this kingdom.

A few other clarification questions:

1) Wasn't a Laurel awarded in Atenveldt for fencing-itself (not research
but actual skill) this last year? --What do the peerages (Laurel
and Chivalry) think of that approach?

2) I thought that in OP terms, other kingdoms' orders were ranked with
the "bare" xOA of the appropriate level. The xOA is universal, but
absent a particular treaty, the order itself doesn't grant OP preference
outside of the kingdom that gave it. (Our Willows and Oaks, etc) who
move to another kingdom rank in that kingdom's OP under AoA and date
given. How else would we handle it when each kingdom sets its own
standards for what an order is? Again please correct me if I'm wrong on
this.

(Thinking that maybe I should duck and run....)
