Yes indeed, Elizabeth and Essex was with Bette Davis and Errol Flynn.
She also starred in "The Virgin Queen". It was originally entitled
"Sir Walter Raleigh" and was to star Richard Todd and a bright new 22
year old starlet known to all as Joan Collins, her first picture. When
Darryl F. Zannuk convinced Miss Davis to end her three year retirement,
it was renamed.
It is basically, the story of the love between Walter Raleigh and Beth
Throckmorten and of Raleigh's ambitions to be a sea captain. All and
all, it's quite entertaining.
