Hello...
I'm new to this mailing list, from Mare Amethystinum. (Thunder
Bay, Ontario) Still oficially wothout a name after two years, mabey one
of you can help with that, I'm looking for a Celtic name, right now I'm
leaning towards Cormac though I'm not sure if it is al all period. As

well as any last name you may have. The time period is about 800. I have
just realized I'v gone on a little tangent... to answer your question her
is a direct quote from the new SCA Fighters Handboke, glossary

DEVICE- A form of armorial display registared to the college of Heralds
to an individual or group. When the holder becomes an Armiger, the
registered emblem becomes the arms, or personal heraldic emblem, of the
individual. In the interest of medieval pagentry, members of the Society
are encouraged to carry them upon their shields, banners and clothing,
even if they have not yet recived a formal award.

I hope this was a great help.
