I'd ask them for a song every time I saw them carrying the thing. Sooner or
later, they'd learn some or stop carrying the thing to shut me up.

My usual response to the "Martial Artiste who's had so much training they're
afraid they'd actually kill someone" is:
"Gee, in the system I learned in you couldn't advance in rank without showing
a commensurate level of control."

I guess I'm just no fun.
