Midwest Spinners and Weaver's conference will be in Canton, OH July
10-13. Pre-conference events start July 6.
A membership for the regular conference now runs $140 and includes 3
mini-sessions (4-hour) or 1 mini-session and one maxi (all day).
Membership also includes admittance into the 3 keynote speeches by
Heather WInslow, Ingrid Boesel, and Anita Mayer, an informal fashion
show, a juried fashions show a breakfast and a banquet.
There are roughly 100 minisessions to choose from, on subjects including
tapestry weaving, coverlets, basket weaving, spinning, creativity, and at
least one session on felting.
The maxi-sessions include Color and blending spinning, Flax processing
spinning and weaving, advanced card weaving (taught by Sigrid Piroch),
and sprang work among other things.
Most years there are memberships available at the door, but this only
gets you entry into sessions that haven't already been filled.

If you don't want to attend the conference there is a dealer's area which
is free (I think) and open to the public. It will be at the Canton Civic
Center/ 1101 Market Ave. N and will be open Thursday July 10 from 10 am
to 5 pm, Friday from 9 to 5 pm and Saturday from 9am to 5 pm and again
from after Anita Mayer's speech until 11:30 PM.
