[Mid] Flirting

You know, Flirting is the one art in the SCA that is not accorded its
proper due by being listed with the other arts. 'Tis a shame, as IMHO,
proper flirting can be one of the most beautiful, and enjoyable of the
art forms, and it certainly can be the most memorable.

Flirting for me can be broken quite simply down to the old acronym KISS
(sorry, couldn't resist), or Keep It Simple, Stupid. By this I mean
doing little, simple things that somehow makes a person feel as if they
are the most important person in the entire world. The Queen of the
Ball. The Helen of the Event. You get the idea. Just pay attention to
what your flirting partner has to say and most importantly, be
interested in what your partner has to say. Nothing will get an icy
cold dagger quicker than yawning right when your partner answers a
question that you asked. Above all, never talk only about yourself.
This will lead your partner into rightly assuming you to be a bore, and
then it's dagger time.

 And lastly, for all you guys out there (and you women too!) learn how
to dance. The wise saying says "He who allows his feet to dance will
pass through the gates of the city of Romance". Dancing is fun, easy,
and not really draining. After all, dancing was a forum for people to
flirt with each other, and it would be very difficult to flirt if one
was wheezing all the time.
