Greetings, Lady Bet

>You *do* live many leagues from here, but you would've been welcome.
>;->> Absolutely no restrictions at all save those of money and time.

It's always neat traveling somewhere where you are "a guest" for the event.
For example, my second event was a small camping event in the Barony of
Rising Waters (Niagara Peninsula). I enjoyed meeting people that I will
now actually remember at my next event, (as my first event (Coronet
Tourney) I met so many people that I can't remember) the local baron, Baron
Malic (sp?) and his baroness, were very welcoming.

>this is what you call *advance* notice. ;->>

>Where is that in relation to the border?

About 2 hours from Niagara Falls... West of Toronto (I don't know the SCA
Name) and Trinnovantia Nova (London)... pretty much directly south of
Guelph and Kitchener Waterloo... If you are looking at a road map, Follow
QEW to Hamilton and then take Highway 8 through dundas to Cambridge. I'm
within bicycling distance of Murder Melee... if you are familiar with
that... (Yes, I inted to be there!!!)

>Sounds like you would like
>things bardic.

Informal Scouting Campfires have always been a favourite thing of mine...
So, I guess yes... I may end up being found at a bardic circle at
Pennsic... (or at Herald's Point... I'm told that with my bad jokes, I'm
a good candidate for a herald... And it sounds like fun...)

>Some of the outdoor sites are excellent for walks and
>nature.

I'm lucky... we are still close enough that going out of about a 2 hour
walk takes me well out of the city, and I can walk about 15 minutes and be
able to sit by a pond and see what's going on there (there are actually 3
ponds, but there is one that is my favourite... There was such complaint
when they wanted to fill them in for housing developments that they were
left in their natural state (or at least fairly close!)

>> >I'm
>> >in Columbus, Oh - Marche of Tirneywdd.
>>
>> Actually Thanks for adding both the canton's name and the mundane name...
>> I'm compiling a list so that when someone says I'm from such and such a
>> place, I can figure out WHERE ON EARTH they are from... So what Barony
>> are you in???
>
>You're welcome. I'm in the Barony of the Middle Marches and we (the
>city) are right smack in the center of the state.

Mundanely, what areas does the barony take up???

>We had an event the week before ours that you most likely would have
>enjoyed - the Romans against the Celts - chariots and all. ;->>> Dunno
>who won, I don't think anyone was counting. ;->> It was just a good
>time and that was all that really mattered.

I guess that all that really matters is that everyone enjoyed themselves,
and all the dead people were able to get up at the end... ;o)
