[Mid] Documentation Dilemma

Greetings unto Lady Saradwen Ariandalen (and all else who may wish to read
this) from Lady Hana Lore an dem Fenn, Minister of the Arts and Sciences to her
Canton of Rimsholt in the Barony of Andelcrag, Pentamer, Kingdom of the Middle.

I have taught a class on documentation to my Canton as well as at our Royal
University of the Midrealm, and as soon as I get my good gentle butt in gear,
I'll volunteer to teach this class at Pennsic. I wish to offer to send you the
compilation of materials I have given out to students of this workshop. These
materials should help your good gentles to feel less afraid of documentation.

Documentation is a hurdle we MoASs must all overcome in encouraging gentles to
display their knowledge, skills and crafts at Regional Faires. The most
important thing these talented gentles must understand is that documentation is
merely a way to explain

what you made
how you made it
whether it was made in period
how it was made in period

We all understand that documentation is best done BEFORE a project is begun.
However, I would guess that nine times out of ten, gentles have the project
finished when they decide to enter it in a Faire. And that's okay. The talented
soul just has to have explained the idea that documentation is must easier to
approach if it is done before the project has been completed. I have been
fortunate so far not to come across anyone whose work is not documentable,
although I've assisted with some extremely trying research to prove that a
project is period.

mail. I collected articles on documentation from our current Kingdom MoAS, our
past KMoAS, another good gentle from the internet, and my own experience. I
would email it to you, but some of it is not on the internet.
