Hello all fellow merchants.
We here at House Loch Mor were also up in arms about this new procedure.
Please don't panic. We called the PA Tax folks and were assured that
there will not be any problems. They have been getting several calls
and this is the info we got when we called.
1. NO you DO NOT have to pay the $500.00. They know Pennsic goes on
every year and there is no promoter number.
2. You do not have to have a seperate PA bank account. They just want
to know where the tax money will be held until you pay it in Feb. 98.
You can use your current bank account, just tell them where it is.
3. YES, you will have to file with PA twice, but unless you make other
sales in PA before Pennsic, you will just report 0 sales prior to
Pennsic.
It really isn't all that bad, we just have to fill out our own paper
work this year. It looks much worse than it is. It took me about 5
minutes to fill out the form.
The folks in PA were very kind and were a big help. I'm sure they would
be happy to take your questions (if you are equally as kind to them of
course).
