Truly parents like that should be flogged. They may be stuck with
Hogg, but they had a coice with the first name. Of course many last
names can be mangled. I knew a boy who's last name is Hogfuss. Of
course the other kids would call him Hogface. And consider the
misfortunes and taunts heaped upon poor little Becky Pickelslammer.

There is a neighbor of mine named Odd Gjovig. Perfectly good
Norwegian name.
