I found my name in 1987 when i decided that after trying English,Irish and
Scots personas in 5 years that islam was for me. Aminah(may her name be
blessed) is a "sacred' or blessed name. It is the name of Mohammads (may
Allah give him peace) mother and one of the few name I was able to document
before the current Arab craze.
Actually the name is older than that and can be traced to a sanscrit root ,it
is also related to forms of Amy and to some extent amanda.
