This is my first post on the Rialto EVER (been reading it >10yrs)
No S*it, it really happened...to me.
Though I have Dropped Out, when I was active, I was a Grey Gargoyle.
I loved the group, the people, the food, and the FIGHTING! Unfortunatly,
being quite young (High school/Early admit Collage) and poor at the time,
I could never scrape together the proper armor, so I had to Make Due
(Carpet monster! run for your lives!). Though I participated in our
fighter's practice, I had yet to authorize, and WAR was fast approching,
so off to the reginal lists I go. It's my turn at the lists, paired
against a Knight (Augh!) who had just won the open lists (AUGH!). So, of I
go, Stick&Board. I make it! I get cocky, and when asked, try for my true
goal, Greatweapon! Pulling out my O-Katana, I re-advance on the list,
knowing my Kendo and Akido training will make this quick...and it was...
You see, as I glided in for my attack, a VERY important part of my armor
'glided' out...from my hakima. 'YIPE!' went I, *THACK* went my helm,
"HOLD" went the martial, seeing me get hit hard enough on the head to
loose the family purse! See, while I *did* wear the cup, I had forgotten
the, er, strap back in chicago, so, wanting to authorize, I did what any
fool would...I used Duct Tape! 'Twas the most embarrasing day of my life,
and MAN, that tape sure leaves a mark...
