It is ALWAYS appropriate to recommend someone for an award, regardless
of the level of that award. Remember, even the members of an Order are only
"recommending" to Their Majesties. The ultimate decision is Theirs. Likewise,
critical comment is welcome, if it is given in a helpful and constructive way.
I have told my squires that theirs is the position of someone who is dedicated
to an ideal, and that their actions and demeanor reflect on me and my household.

Subject: [Mid] peerage reccomendations
How do Peers and Royal folk feel about lowly AoA only types writing
in favor of someone they feel deserves a peerage? Especially if
there's someone in a remote area who isn't
squired/apprenticed/pretegee'd to anyone but may be doing work at or
close to peer level. Would it be appropriate to write to the
Roayalty and Order at least to suggest they take a look at the
individual?
