Under no uncertain terms, sincerity is one of the most difficult, rare,
and invaluable traits required in a Peer.

The most consistant advice I've seen given to both Peer-wannabes and newbies
alike, is "Do what you love, Love what you do." Unfortunately, I see it
often ignored in people chasing cookies and being toadies to peers.
Politicing infects us all when this advice is ignored. People forget
about the big picture and turn into petty ladder climbers.

It is difficult to remain in integrity in *everything* you do. It's
almost impossible to look at every role one plays in life (in and out of
the SCA) and say "Everything I've ever done here has been with the most
honorable of intentions, I've never stepped out of my moral limits, and
I've always spoken the truth to my knowledge."

It's rare to find people who belive in their hearts that it really is
important to speak from the heart, act with integrity, and know one's own
truth well enough to be self-monitoring. I know a few peers of our realm
who do live with this high level of sincerity, and I truly admire them.
I hope to keep chasing that goal myself to my dying day.

Damn, that was preachy. Thanks for listening tho.
