[Mid] favors

I don't know why, but I feel a desire to jump into this conversation. I
believe favors are period. A lady would often give a lord (her lord) a
sign of her favor, a hair ribbon, a tippet, a glove, to show her support,
that this lord was her favorite of the day.
If I am wrong, please correct me.
