Yes, that's what I meant. Documentable and thoroughly common in the
Middle Ages. You know, a recipe in Forme of Curye for "chicken with
powder fortissimo".

I've always wondered what weird and wonderful things they'd have done
with cocoa, had it been an Old World plant.
