On the other side is; if you see someone deserving of an award
WRITE A RECOMMENDATION!

Anyone can write in someone for an award, but if no one does,
there won't be any. There have been
too many times when we've heard of no one receiving awards in
an area ("no one's received an award here for 8 years") but
when asked, "Well, did you write them in for one" we get the
response, "No". You're literate. Write one.
If you don't know how, ask.

The another side is those people that are overlooked working
in the background. One Lady we talked to was heavily involved
with the equestrians, always working with the horses and almost
never at court, partially due to this. We asked her name, "And
you are, Lady ...", she responded "I'm no Lady" and was very
upset. She'd been working behind the scenes for years. We were
able to get out that she had never received an AoA and when we
brought this to the attention of the Baron and Baroness they
were quite upset. They had "assumed" she had received one at
some time but that wasn't the case. She received it the
following month with apologies. (This was not in the Middle
Kingdom.)

There are many more cases but the basics are: If you see
someone deserving, write a recommendation. Don't assume they
have an award, check on it. Look in the OP (Order of
Precedence), ask others, check with Kingdom. ASK THE PERSON,
they'll know what they do and do not have (most of the time).
If they move in from another area/kingdom, ask their last
group. Do SOMETHING.

End soapbox.
