I beleive next year face-to-face judging will be used at the regional A&S
competitions. This should help with feedback to entrants. Also, encourage
your friend to contact her judges for more feedback. The judges
coordinators attempt to get judges that have some knowledge of the type of
entries they will be judging, but sadly this is not always possible.
Sometimes judges may have too many pieces to judge and this too leads to
lack of feedback. The only thing we can do about that is to encourage
people to judge things the know so we have more and more knowledgeable
judges.
