Hence, if I were an officer
(and I am) I would not serve alcohol to anyone at an SCA event under any
conditions, as I desire to be a responsible member of this organization and
not
place the SCA at risk. On the other hand, any number of times while
attending
an event, a brewer has offered me a sample of his/her handiwork, and I have
accepted.
Duke Andrew of Riga,
Aren't you then helping to set up a double standard which could be
misconstrued
as your condoning drinking and not adhering to the rules?
I am just thinking that rather then this, shouldn't the society be
looking at helping all of us to be responsible for our own actions? Not just
by prohibiting the actions but rather by allowing us to study and write about
it.
I guess that I remember an article in TI that was written by a gentleman
who was and is an alcoholic. He talked about what was happening to him when
he went to events such as the war. I was really impressed by his ability to
articulate what he felt. But, he took the responsibility for his actions and
at the same time taught
others.
