Subject: [Mid] Crown Tourney Afterthought

        Greetings unto the Bridge (that I hope is holding up better than the
pathways of Pentamere...)!

        I was at work today... And I was bored... And I started thinking
about Crown Tourney... (I'm still recovering from the flashbacks, traumatic
stress!)

        I recall watching the list on Sunday and I was watching with a member
of the Chivalry who will remain nameless. (Unless he doesn't want to be...
But anyway, back to the story.) There was one fighter who would go out onto
the battle field totally armored while his lady (and I assume her attendant)
stood on the sideline. Glancing back, this fighter would turn to his lady
(when asked to acknowledge the one he was fighting for) and promptly remove
his helm and go to kiss her hand. He did this each time he fought. As I
remember it, this noble member of the chivalry and myself got to talking
about this gentleman removing his helm each time he fought. We both agreed
that it is quite cumbersome to take this piece of armor on and off, and my
companion remarked that he thought it was rather... Bothersome, (he said it
more tactfully than this, but I can't recall the exact wording.) to come out
dressed only to undress and dress again. However, as I got to thinking about
it I thought, well, what a compliment to his Lady. After all, here was her
Lord going through a great deal of trouble to win this tournament yet still
he paused and went through the trouble of having to take off his helm again
and again. To me it showed that he remembered exactly what he was fighting
for... Not power, not a crown, but her. I can only think how honored that
Lady must have been by her Lord.

I sadly, do not recall the Lord's name or face or colors, but I remember his
actions well. So, to whomever it was, from a Lady, well done. What a truly
chivalrous display.

I believe that this most chivalrous fighter's name was Viscount Rurik Longsword and his Lady, Barones Ygraine, is indeed beloved.
