Greetings, all,

I found a couple of books that might be of interest to some of
you:

Shakespeare for Kids by Colleen Aagesen and Margie Blumberg.
It's an activity book based and the Bard's life and times. Most
of it is definitely written for older kids, but it has
activities like making quill pens, making swords, Elizabethan
games, etc. that would be of interest to younger SCA kids.
There's also a lot about staging Shakespearean plays for young
thespians.

Discovering Castle Days by J. Bradley Cruxton and W. Douglas
Wilson. This one is written for younger kids, but the
activities are definitely for older kids. Go figure! It has
simple explanations for such things as the plans of castles and
abbeys, life of a serf, steps to knighthood, etc., but the
activities are more like: Pretend you are a newspaper reporter
and write and eye witness account of a seige.

The two of them together have a lot a good information and
great ideas, but you might need to switch the activities
between the two books, depending on the kids you work with.
