Greetings!
First, all should know these are my own opinions and observations. Please
note that if they do not apply to you, you should not be defensive about them.
That said, let me say this.
I was in attendance at Their Majesties Court at Crown Tourney last Saturday.
An exciting, exhausting day was had by most, if not all. Court was set up in
a hall that was also set up for feast after Court, and the feasters were
seated.
Obviously there was much schmoozing, talking, and general noise. Their
Majesties, being delayed, asked Duke Moonwolf to entertain the crowd until
They arrived, which he attempted to do. That is, the aforesaid noise
continued. No big problem, but I was surprised that those who wanted to talk
didn't go into the nice cool night outside.
Anyway, when Their Majesties arrived, in company with Their Majesties of
And yet, >THERE WAS STILL NOISE<. My apology for "shouting", but I'm upset!
I guess not.
What is the purpose of this noise? I hope that folks in future Courts will
Don't misunderstand - I think people should attend Court! I also think they

EAldomere and the Princess and Heir of Northshield, the noise only abated
somewhat. All through the Court, there was a constant drone of talking from
the seated feasters (who would not be served until Court was over, anyway).
On a couple of occasions, His Majesty or Her Majesty would apologize for the
delay, and ask for patience, while they elevated several people to the
peerage.
I cannot believe that folks in a Society that prides itself on courtesy
would--on purpose--be so boorish as to talk all through the Court proceedings
as folk were elevated to the highest honors in that Society! Could not the
speaking volume be lowered? Could not the talk have moved outside? Did they
not understand the polite requests from the Crown to quiet themselves?
think for a moment of where they are and what they are doing. The Crown has
several times said They wish to help the Middle Kingdom "make magic"; to do
this They will need the willing help of the populace. One way to help is to
respectfully listen to Court proceedings; or if unable to sit quietly, to
take themselves out of the hall until they are quiet or Court is over.

by some at last Saturdays Court if the attendees had been in fourth grade,
much less chronological adults for the most part.
