     Althought the above statement might be true, it still doesn't address
the problem. I'm a trained singer. I can fill a concert hall without a
microphone and drown out most people and their conversations if I so choose.
However, given enough people and their conversations, even at a whisper,
even my voice wouldn't be able to compete. I would have to given in, be
quiet, patient, and wait for the talking to stop, or try to shout (supported

or otherwise) and risk eventual vocal nodes and loss of voice.
    Talking and waiting aside that still wouldn't address how rudely the
kingdom is represented by those talkers to the visiting royalty. I would
think that as one of the oldest kingdoms in the SCA we are looked at for
examples of how to act in our re-enacting and excessive talking during a
court I'm sure isn't what other kingdoms would expect from us or we from
ourselves.

   There's mine...where's the bucket to place the pennies in?
