Then skip it until such time as they are available to receive it.

In many of the recent courts that I have been involved with, I believe I
would contest that allagation. It is increasingly frequent that *someone
to accept for them* takes home most of the awards.

I often (perhaps annoyingly often) ask poeple if they're planning on going
to Such-&-Such event. Sometimes (not always) it's in preperation for an
award recommendation. Dmitrii drew my attention to this and as Clerk of
precedence I did the research. For any one person, it is six times as
likely that they will never receive another award beyond their AoA. The
likelyhood that any given award is the last that any one person will
receive goes up fairly quickly from there. The reason for the awards
system is so that we, as a society, can recognize people for their
contributions and abilities. I just think this kind of recognition should
be done publicly and in person, not by proxy.

I would rather skip an award until such time as the recipient can be there
to accept it, than to give awards by proxy.
