No, I am not sayting it is okay to make noise. What I am saying is that if
people cannot hear well they WILL talk! Yes, it's rude, and yes, they
should not do it. But, people being people, they will do it anyway. They
cannot sit silently with their hands folded and pay attention to nothing.
When groups are renting facilites for events, they may wish to check the
acoustics in the area they plan to hold court, and if they are not good, the
group should plan for electronic assists where necessary. Because we aree
human, it is up to the one(s) speaking to make sure they are heard.

In one of our textbooks for acting classes in college, the statement was
made that at an audition there are only two questions which it is acceptable
for an actor to ask. One is, "Am I in the light" and the other is "Can you
hear me?" Both questions are applicable here, as I have also seen courts
where the royals were in shadow, and ;the poor Heralds hardly even had
enough light to read the scrolls and so on by.
