Just my musings on the subject...

My husband and I merchant, and have a 6-year old. We try to be at
events when site opens, so we can be set up by the time the majority
of the attendees arrive.

What this means is that by the time feast rolls around, we're pooped,
and want to go home. There's been time I would have liked to stay for
feast, but I know all three of us will be *really* cranky later that
night or tomorrow if we do. Never mind the idea of staying for a court
after feast.

Making it to court during morning or the middle of the day also isn't
something we do, often. I know other merchants will close up for court,
but for some reason I just can't. Maybe it's from too many years
working
in retail in mundania, where you get in trouble if you aren't open.

Anyway, I know there's others like us that don't generally make it to
court for one reason or another -- the person who always does troll, or
whatever. Perhaps, when we're recommending that person for an award,
and
we know that they'll be doing whatever job at this event, we could put
that in the awards recommendation, and the crown could hold a mini-court
-- Decend on the person in question, have a herald gather the nearby
folks,
and present the award there? Not quite as public as being called up
into
court, but more personal, and they wouldn't have to go through using
time
in court calling the non-present.

Like I said, just my musings .. .
