>>Just an FYI, most Kingdom's don't use that particular phrase. Every other

Calontir uses the "or someone to accept for them" phrase; I heard it used
as recently as Coronation a month and a half ago. . .

>>Of course, most other kingdom's also don't read peerage ceremonies and fealty
oaths en masse out of a book either. <<
You've never been to a mass fealty swearing in Calontir, then, eh? <grin>
And our peerage ceremonies vary; sometimes out of The Book, sometimes
with variations. <theatrical sigh>

>>You don't realize just how boring we have

it until you see a knight give a real oath from his heart and soul and TRM's gi

an honest and individual response. The beauty of the real thing moves me to
tears every time.<<

Two comments:
1) Knights? Just knights?

2) I do know how boring you have it. That's why I came up with a real
fealty oath when I swore fealty to my peer. Good stuff. Calontir's
Official Fealty Oaths have been moving closer to period style - but,
even if they do sound more period (finally!), they are, unfortunately,
still Mass Market By the Book oaths (good sounding ones, yes, but
the same ones as said by everone).

Trust me. I know how boring things can be. I've been to courts
for over 20 years now. I can get bored really fast at courts, for
there is nothing new under the sun.
