Some things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving (paraphased from the sermon
on Sunday that our minister gave at church):
For your messy, cluttered house or apartment, for that means that you have a
place to live.
For your dirty laundry that you have to wash, for it means you have clothes
to wear.
For the dishes in the kitchen sink that need to be washed, for that means
you have food to eat.
For the complaints about the boss and the co-workers, for it means you have
a job and a means of sustenance.
For that stack of unread newspapers and magazines in the corner, for it
means you can both see and read.
For the noise outside your house or apartment, for it means you can hear.
For the odour emanating from the dumpster in your apartment parking lot or
the trash can in your driveway, for it means that you can smell.
For the people that annoy us, because very often, they are our friends or
family, and that means that we have people who we love who love us back,
regardless.
For all those little things that upset and frustrate us each and every day,
be thankful. There is usually some good to be found in them if you look hard
enough.
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!
