[Mid] Ayreton Christmas Party

Greetings,

Welcome to the holiday season. For the next twenty some-odd (and
some of them wil be very odd) days, you'll be bombarded from all
sides with celebration. As it turns out, we're no exception.

Our little Thanksgiving party was such a success, that we've
decided to do it again. That's right we're going to celebrate
Thanksgiving in December....errr no that's not it. Well, there's
some holiday or other this month (Christmas, Chanukkah, Kwansaa,
Saturnalia - pick one), and we're throwing a party to celebrate it.

On December 12th; join us in the Grey Gargoyles for fighting, feasting,
and dancing (though hopefully not all at the same time - that would be
messy). If you've got any fun A&S projects you're working on, bring
them along too. We'd like to make the place look as festive as
possible; so please bring banners, feast gear, pretty garb, etc.
We do have use of the Ida Noyes kitchen, so warming things up for
the pot luck feast will be a bit easier.

The approximate schedule for the day is as follows:

     1-2 European dancing
     2-5 fighting
         fencing
         more European dancing
         Middle-Eastern dancing
         A&S
     5-6 feasting

Remeber that this is a guesstimate (though it worked pretty well in
November) and the timing may vary a bit. We're still making some of

I was asked to mention a couple of other things. Entertainment during
feast is definitely encouraged. If you're unable to bring a dish for
the pot luck, but would like to contribute to it; there should be an
opportunity to do so. Talk to Lady Constance on the day of the event.

It seems there are a number of new folks reading this who are
interested in the SCA, but haven't found the right time to come out and
meet us. May I humbly suggest, that this would be an excellent time and
place to do so. If you don't have any garb to wear, that's ok. Let us
know that you're coming and we'll find something for you to borrow for
the day. For anyone who's recently moved to the area from other parts
of the Known World, this would be a great time to meet you folks too.
